Year on increase – Transport

03 February, 2012

We asked the managing director of Aximus Fleet and Logistics what he thinks the fixed/ variable increases should be to sustain the industry for the next 12 months.

“As February is historically the month for price revision, it is a good time to ask this question. Our long distance industry, majority of the time, have to look at the variable costs during the year and amend it as the DME regulate the fuel price”
“We look at our fixed costs on an annual base and are guided by the CPI and PPI indexes. It will be premature to put an exact percentage as operators scrutinize separate elements that need consideration before publication,” says Johan Nothnagel.
“Unfortunately due to the global turmoil and imports competing with local production companies, the increases are never what they should be. Add the ever problematic labour component to the equation, and you have headache of note,” he added.
